Styling: Very Coarse & Textured Hair
Take control with confidence. Designed for curly, coarse and thick hair, La Monica removes frizz and smooths hair, while a retractable pick facilitates blow-drying and styling in sections. Reinforced wild boar bristles are gentle on the hair, pulling curls and frizz straight while minimizing breakage. A triangular shaped handle creates the perfect balance of pull and tension. Ash wood adds flexibility and reduces static with a natural touch.

Sizing information+−
When choosing the right brush size, there are several factors to consider. You'll want a brush that corresponds comfortably to the size of your hand. The style you want to achieve is another factor. You may find that a larger barrel size helps you achieve better results for long, straight hair; and a small or medium barrel may help you achieve smaller waves and curls better. If you're unsure of what size you need, visit our salons to test the different barrel sizes and find the most comfortable fit, or send us a message through our contact form, and we will gladly guide you to the right brush.
Brush care+−
With proper care, your brush will improve over time. Use gentle cleaning methods, such as a brush cleaner or sanitizing spray, instead of soaps and detergents that may harm the brush. When using a hair dryer, point in a downward motion to avoid exposing the brush to direct heat for extended periods of time. It is best not to immerse the brush in water, as it may damage the wood. If you use water to clean the brush, allow it to dry for at least 48 hours before using heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
What hair type is the La Monica Round Brush good for?
Thick, curly and coarse hair. It is the strongest brush in the range, built to hold tension through dense hair that lighter brushes slip over. On fine hair it is more brush than you need.
Which La Monica Round Brush size is best for my hair type?
Go by length, not by texture. 50mm for short to shoulder, 60mm for mid-length, 75mm for long and thick. A wider barrel gives a smoother finish, a narrower one more bend. Layers are the one case for owning two sizes: the short pieces want a narrower barrel than your lengths do.
What is special about the bristles in the La Monica Round Brush?
Reinforced wild boar. Boar is close to human hair, so it grips the cuticle and draws your scalp's own oil down the strand, which is what smooths frizz and builds shine. Reinforcing stops them splaying in thick hair.
Can I use the La Monica Round Brush on wet hair?
Wait until it's about eighty percent dry. Wet hair snaps easily. Get the knots out first with a wide-tooth comb or a detangling brush like La Claudia, then bring this in to shape it.
What is the lifetime of the La Monica Round Brush?
Years, and it gets better rather than worse. Boar behaves like leather. Every use softens it a little and it settles into the shape of your hair, so the blow dry gets easier the longer you own it.
How do I clean the La Monica Round Brush?
Lift the shed hair out with Ciccio, which hooks under it and reaches between dense tufts where fingers can't. Skip soap, it dries the bristle out. A wipe along the barrel is all the rest it needs.
Will water ruin the La Monica Round Brush?
A splash will not. Soaking it will. The bristles are set into the wood, so water that gets into the base has no way back out and works on the glue from inside. Wipe it, never submerge it, and if it does get wet give it 48 hours before heat.
My hair is thick but not curly. Is the La Monica Round Brush still right?
Maybe not. Thick straight hair often does better with the La Sophia Round Brush, same boar bristle with less pull. Take the quiz and it'll tell you in two minutes.

I’ve been using the La Monica brush primarily for blow-drying, and it’s completely elevated my at-home routine. The retractable pick makes sectioning so easy. It also handles heat beautifully. I’ve noticed it helps regulate and distribute heat evenly while I’m drying, which makes my blowouts look smoother and feel healthier. It glides through easily and leaves my hair polished. Definitely a game-changer for blow-drying.
