Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get hair out of a brush?
Hook it rather than pull it. Ciccio's steel tines slide under the wound hair at the base and lift the whole lot out in one go, instead of tugging at it and pulling bristles out too.
Ciccio Brush Cleaner or Dada Brush Cleaner?
Dada is the one for pin and cushion brushes, where the problem is buildup rather than wound hair. If your brushes are mostly round and boar, start here instead.
Does the Ciccio Brush Cleaner work on boar bristle?
Will steel damage my bristles?
Not if you keep it parallel to the rows. The tines are spaced to pass between bristles, not through them. Let the shape do the work rather than forcing it sideways.
How often should I use the Ciccio Brush Cleaner?
Once a week takes ten seconds and stops the mat ever forming. Left for months, the hair knits into a layer at the base that's far harder to lift.
Will the Ciccio Brush Cleaner rust?
Not if you dry it. The tines are steel and the join to the ferrule is the one place water likes to sit. A wipe after use is all it needs.
I am new to brush care and do not know what I need.
Start with the brush, the cleaner follows from it. the quiz asks about your hair and length, then tells you which brush to get.
