Frequently Asked Questions

What hair type is the Fede Wood Comb good for?

Fine and short hair. Close-set teeth catch fine hair and actually move it, and the tips are rounded so nothing scratches at the scalp.

What is the difference between a wide-tooth comb and a fine-tooth comb?

Wide teeth get knots out. Fine teeth place and finish hair. If you are mostly detangling, take Gio or Leo. If you are parting, or working with shorter hair, take this one.

Why wood instead of plastic?

Static, mostly. Plastic builds a charge and leaves hair lifting and frizzing. Beech and walnut don't. Wood also has no molding seam, which is the ridge on a cheap comb that snags and splits hair.

Is the Fede Wood Comb good for short hair and beards?

Both. The spacing that works on fine hair gives a clean part on short hair, and the short spine is easy to control up close.

Can I use the Fede Wood Comb on wet hair?

Yes, though fine teeth and a wet knot are a bad combination. Loosen anything stubborn with your fingers, a wide-tooth comb or a detangling brush like La Claudia first, then use this to finish.

What is the lifetime of the Fede Wood Comb?

Decades, kept dry. There is nothing to wear out on a comb cut from one piece of wood.

How do I clean the Fede Wood Comb?

Fine teeth hold far more product than wide ones. Run Dada's nylon bristles down between them every week or so, then wipe the spine with a dry cloth. That is the whole job.

My hair is fine but long. Is the Fede Wood Comb still right?

It'll part and finish beautifully, but long hair usually wants something wider for detangling too. the quiz will tell you whether to pair it with the Leo Wood Comb.
